at Detroit Cristo Rey High School we're preparing bright students from low-income families for college acceptance successful careers and inspiring them to drive change in their community we know a quality education is the best way to economic self-sufficiency unfortunately many young people are shut out from good schools simply because of family income less than 10% of low-income adults have a college degree High School Dropout rates in most Urban centers top 40% these are just statistics or numbers on a graph these are real teenagers who are talented want to learn and who have real dreams crystal Ray schools are the Georgia piece students Dreams by combining a quality education with a corporate work-study program are schools in power thousands of students from low-income communities to develop their minds and hearts and become a lifelong contributors to society here's how the model Works job sharing plus employee leasing equals transformational opportunities a team of four students covers one full-time equivalent position without missing class they work 9 to 5 Monday through Friday from mid August to early June with an option to work year-round and the school transports the students to work students are employees of the school they are on our payroll we handle taxes workers comp Department labor and other employer issues companies lease their work through a fee-for-service contract with us this program is transforming Urban America participating companies get reliable motivated talent for high turnover Brazil without the cost of additional benefits they get a community outreach program with proven success and more they access a pipeline of Highly Educated predominantly minority talent for students it's a hand up not a and out they earn their education while gaining professional work experience and exposure to co-workers who have gone to college students work at every size business or Corporation they work in it legal Finance HR and more many do translation work we need more companies to partner with us be one of the thousands of companies Across America doing good while doing well getting back to their communities while adding value to bottom line make it your business to be part of our future visit us at www Detroit Cristo Rey.
